Calypso Cricket

For those who have had the good fortune to enjoy the festival that is cricket in the Caribbean, no other sporting sojourn will come close

Calypso Cricket is not just a sport; it is a passion and a celebration. It is also the definitive season for a party in the islands. The cricket is the focus but the music and the movement is the reason. The tour plan takes in 2 tests in the Islands. There will be a 15 day tour schedule and plenty to keep us busy between the matches.

We will visit some of the true gems of the West Indian cricketing world. Global Drift will offer exciting choices for the days between the test matches. Options for golf, boat cruises and beach escapes can be taken up on the tour as desired. These tour options will be incorporated with your pre trip information pack.

 The Venues

Barbados - The Groove

Sir Garfield Sobers territory makes for a parochial yet fun and interactive test venue. Worrell, Weekes and Walcott are the ghosts of glories past yet each series sees the emergence of a new champion. Kensington is truly a fantastic cricketing experience

Jamaica - The Reggae

Reggae, reggae and more reggae. Sabina Park is a heaving cauldron on the quietest of days. No other venue explodes with as much action on game day. Kingston has for long been the home of the quicks! Michael Holding and Courtney Walsh reflect the Jamaican need for speed. Home of the perennial “Red Stripe” beer with copious amounts flowing in the “Posse” stand

Trinidad - The Rhythm

The true home of the Calypso culture with its blend of Caribbean, Indian and Spanish influences. This is Brian Lara country and cricket and life here exudes his flair. Truly an island of contrasts. Pulsating life, exotic cultures and stunning nature. Discover mountain ranges with dense, impenetrable virgin forest and magnificent waterfalls
