What We Do and What We Believe

Global Drift is committed to savouring the travel experience. Our journeys are unhurried and liable to include social events, culturally significant festivals and basically any celebration we are able to get ourselves invited to!

Our focus is on people and how they manage their life experience. We try to involve ourselves in regional custom; and we are respectful of local ways. We have painted monasteries, been honoured guests at civic functions even participated in a Buddhist wedding.

We regularly visit an orphanage in Inle Lake and support other local initiatives. Our company has assisted in projects such as bringing fresh water to hill tribe communities as well as building a new wing at a local primary school.

Above all we value a ‘shared’ travel experience and understand we come as guests. Accordingly we are prepared to try new ideas, customs and experiences. Anyone for fried grasshopper?

Our group size is generally a minimum of 6 up to a maximum of 12 persons. On certain itineraries we may take up to 16 depending on transport and accommodation factors.

We do not have a rigid philosophy on accommodation. What we look for are family run guesthouses and unique locations to enhance our travel experience. We know the people who we stay with and therefore we rarely feel like customers. Most of the time we feel like friends and guests and above all we will feel at home.

Character and comfort are the key words.

We leave more than we take in the form of human exchange.

We are serious about travel as a positive force for change.
