A Taste of Madagascar

Madagascar lies in the remote waters of the western Indian Ocean.  Long considered a mystical ‘must see’ destination its isolation has left a pristine culture and wondrous range of wildlife for the determined traveller to experience

On this short tour we are exposed to the unique wildlife and flora in the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park and combine it with an exploration of the Malagasy culture in the capital known as Tana.

This will give us a solid overview of the uniqueness and singularity of Madagascar and possibly leave you hungrier for more.   Whatever the result you will be glad you have experienced the wonder and diversity of one of travels long sought after destinations.

5 Day Itinerary
Departure:2021Departs any day on request
Day 1 - Arrive Antananarivo (Tana)
Arrival day and we will have a group meeting before dinner tonight. We will search out the fabled Malagasy cuisine which encompasses the many diverse culinary traditions of Madagascar
Day 2 - Antananarivo to Andasibe
Heading east today we visit ‘Madagascar Exotic’ a small park with the objective of preserving several species of chameleons and reptiles. Two kinds of lemurs can also be seen here as well as frogs and geckos. On arrival in Andasibe we plan a night walk to locate mouse lemurs, frogs and other night fauna. Our accommodation is in a forest lodge
Day 3 - Andasibe
This morning we take a walk in the Special Reserve of Andasibe to search for the unique Indri Indri as well as other lemurs, birds and orchids. After lunch we visit the Island of Lemurs with many species to observe. We are up close and personal here with an excellent opportunity for photographers. Back to base for an evening in the lodge
Day 4 - Andasibe to Antananarivo
We enjoy a morning visit to the Analamazaotra Reserve where we hope to find Indris and other species of Lemurs as well as exotic birdlife. On the way back to Tana we visit the Royal Hill of Ambohimanga which has long been one of the most important spiritual and historic sites for the Malagasy people. We hope to have time for some final exploration of the city before our last dinner together in this amazing destination of Madagascar
Day 5 - Depart Antananarivo
Tour ends and you can depart any time today
