South Africa emerged from the world's sporting wilderness to reassert itself as a cricketing powerhouse. Never far from the top of the rankings the Proteas always provide an intimidating challenge for visiting cricket nations. The cricket is tough and hard fought but the atmosphere and location are as welcoming as anywhere in the world
Our itinerary provides excellent accommodation and smooth connections. We are serious about security and have experienced people on the ground to ensure we enjoy our stay and keep safe. The 14 day tour will enjoy two cricket Tests and includes a visit to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve for 'Big Game' drives. We have an opportunity to visit Table Mountain and other sites in beautiful Cape Town. We have included South Africa’s most visually stunning and atmospheric Test venues of Newlands and the Wanderers. These final 2 Tests of the tour will most certainly determine the outcome of the series. Global Drift offers a tour schedule with inclusions such as all cricket tickets, private transport, game park drives and sightseeing in each location. - ***THIS IS A SAMPLE ITINERARY ONLY*** - Day 1 - Arrive Cape Town Arrival day (no activities planned). We head out to enjoy dinner in one of the many Waterfront eateries and discuss our plans for a wonderful stay in South Africa’s most visually stunning city Days 2-6 - Cape Town - ***THIRD TEST*** Transfers to Newlands, one of the world’s most picturesque cricket grounds, to enjoy the Third Test. There will be a morning golf option on a given day, early enough to allow for time at the cricket after your round. We are centrally located and can enjoy the sparkling nightlife and fantastic eateries on Cape Town's famous V&A Waterfront. We will also have opportunities to enjoy optional visits to Table Mountain with sweeping views and Robben Island prison, home to Nelson Mandela for many years Day 7 - Cape Town to Pilanesberg Game Reserve We fly directly from Cape Town to Johannesburg and are collected by our private transport and driven to Pilanesberg Game Reserve and our nearby lodge for 2 nights. All meals and game activities are included. We are on the lookout for some of South Africa fabled animals and can enjoy the splendour of our most authentic African experience Day 8 - Pilanesberg Game Reserve Our safari experience is in full swing today with morning and evening game drives. This is the best time to search for the Big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and Cape buffalo) as well as other legendary African beasts such as cheetah, zebra and giraffe. There is time for relaxation in our beautiful surrounds in the Park Day 9 - Pilanesberg Game Reserve to Johannesburg This morning we enjoy our final game drive and after a hearty breakfast we head back to on a short flight to Johannesburg. Our base here is the Sandton area a wonderful central precinct with a multitude of restaurants, cafes and outdoor eateries. It is the beating heart of Johannesburg Days 10-14 - Johannesburg - ***FOURTH TEST*** Transfers to the Wanderers Stadium. This cauldron generates the best cricketing atmosphere in South Africa. It is known as the "Bull Ring" for reasons that will be very apparent. Most areas are covered which tends to keep the noise in and there is often 30,000 plus spectators enjoying the cricket during the high veld summers. The atmosphere makes for a true test of character for any international cricketer.
On our final day 14 of the tour we recommend an evening departure flight in case the cricket goes down to the wire late on Day 5. You are free to depart any time on this day and most international connections depart in the evening - Any tickets to other tour fixtures, extra day’s accommodation and packages can be arranged by Global Drift as required - |

Local Payment
Your Local Payment is collected by your group leader in cash at your group meeting on Day 1 of the trip and is part of your tour price. The money is spent locally on your tour.

Single Traveller
Global Drift encourages interactive experiences for all of our travellers. As such we presume that you will be happy to share accommodation with a same sex person should you be travelling alone.
However, for those that would prefer a single room for the tour we do offer a single supplement. This also applies to single travellers who we are not able to match up.
It must be stated however that on many of our tours we stay in small family owned guesthouse accommodation. In certain instances with full groups the passenger combinations may not always allow you to enjoy a single room. Please keep this in mind when booking your single supplement. We will however, always do our best to accommodate you.
Please make your request for this service a minimum of 3 months prior to your journey.
