Euro Football Extravaganza
There is no doubting the world game. Played by more, watched by most, Football or Soccer (to the less pure of heart) commands the attention of the entire planet. Supporters are more passionate, salaries are more ludicrous and the excitement of standing in the crowds as they chant and roar is not to be forgotten. Immerse yourself in some of the most vibrant and arguably best leagues in the world. We choose games from England's Premier League, Spain's La Liga, Italy's Serie A, Liga Portugal and Turkey's Süper Lig
This 16 day tour will take in a minimum of 6 games (aiming for 2 in each country) as well as exciting optional visits to some of football and sports most impressive and well known stadiums. We also include sightseeing in most of our locations where we will enjoy extensive walking tours of the historical and contemporary sites.
*Football matches on the tour will be decided pending the release of the schedules in the 2nd half of the year prior to the tour. We aim for fixtures in locations such as London, Manchester, Istanbul, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon. We will also be looking for clashes in regional areas if they present themselves. In addition to included games there will be options to enjoy up to 2-3 more games (as available) including some hospitality packages at the grounds. Transfer to a Süper Lig fixture (pending schedule) Day 2 - Sunday - Istanbul Transfer to Süper Lig fixture (pending schedule) Day 3 - Monday - Istanbul (Gallipoli option) Transfer to Süper Lig fixture (pending schedule). There is an option for an overnight journey to the Gallipoli peninsula to visit the historic WWI battlefields. You will visit ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine memorial and other sites so important to the Australian contingent that fought and died in the region. You may also choose to stay in the fascinating city of Istanbul and immerse yourself in this pulsating cultural blend of Asia and Europe Day 4 - Tuesday - Istanbul More time in this wonderful city that straddles the Bosphorus straight. The Grand Bazaar is a must as it is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. So much to see and do in this vibrant metropolis Day 5 - Wednesday - Istanbul to North England or London We travel to the UK today and are chasing EPL or FA Cup midweek fixtures should they present themselves. We will return via London or the North of England and ultimately base ourselves over the next couple of days in the city of Liverpool Day 6 - Thursday - North England or London Depending on our location in the UK we will be enjoying some sightseeing, some relating to football stadiums and experiences with other options to enjoy locations with cultural and historical significance Day 7 - Friday - Liverpool We will make our way to one of England’s football cauldrons surrounded by world renowned teams and institutions such as Manchester United and City, Everton and of course Liverpool at Anfield. Nearby are also smaller clubs such as Sheffield United that can provide a more local and authentic football experience Day 8 - Saturday - Liverpool Transfer to North England fixture (pending schedule) Day 9 - Sunday - Liverpool Transfer to North England fixture (pending schedule) Day 10 - Monday - Liverpool A possible North England fixture (pending schedule) or we head to other regions for other fixtures or sightseeing. Liverpool is home to the Beatles and there are a number of sites and experiences to avail ourselves of to learn more about their rise to global fame Day 11 - Tuesday - North England/London Once again we are on the lookout for midweek fixtures in the UK and also some sightseeing which may include some optional stadium tours or areas of cultural significance Day 12 - Wednesday - North England/London to Lisbon/Porto? Our journey to the beautiful country of Portugal will be either today or tomorrow and will be determined by midweek football options in both countries Day 13 - Thursday - North England/London to Lisbon/Porto? Portugal has two of the more attractive cities of Europe. Lisbon has steep hills with its yellow trams and is a vibrant treat for the eyes. Porto is world famous for its port wine and is Portugal's second largest city. Both are hubs for the premium teams that ply their trade in the national Primeira Liga competition. We will adjust our itinerary to begin in one city and end in the other in order to maximise our access to premium games Day 14 - Friday - Lisbon/Porto More time to enjoy in either of these fabulous cities reflecting the rich culture of the region. Transfer to Primeira Liga fixture (pending schedule) Day 15 - Saturday - Lisbon/Porto Transfer to Primeira Liga fixture (pending schedule) Day 16 - Sunday - Lisbon/Porto depart Transfer to Primeira Liga fixture (pending schedule). The tour ends this evening and you are free to depart at any time. Alternatively you can add a night and stay longer in the city |

Local Payment
Your Local Payment is collected by your group leader in cash at your group meeting on Day 1 of the trip and is part of your tour price. The money is spent locally on your tour.

Single Traveller
Global Drift encourages interactive experiences for all of our travellers. As such we presume that you will be happy to share accommodation with a same sex person should you be travelling alone.
However, for those that would prefer a single room for the tour we do offer a single supplement. This also applies to single travellers who we are not able to match up.
It must be stated however that on many of our tours we stay in small family owned guesthouse accommodation. In certain instances with full groups the passenger combinations may not always allow you to enjoy a single room. Please keep this in mind when booking your single supplement. We will however, always do our best to accommodate you.
Please make your request for this service a minimum of 3 months prior to your journey.
The quoted extra payment is for the entire trip.

Airport Arrival Transfer
Global Drift offers an optional arrival transfer to your hotel at the quoted fee.
In your trip dossier you will receive directions on how to make your way to your starting point hotel. It is quite easy and possibly cheaper than we are able to offer it.
