Booking Deposit
Clients are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of a minimum of AUD$500 (can vary per tour) in order to confirm their booking. Payment of the balance of the trip price is due 60-75 days before the departure date. If your booking is made within 60 days of the departure date the full payment is required to confirm your place
*At this point Global Drift strongly recommends you take out travel insurance, including cancellation insurance.
- Pricing
Tour prices are factored 12 months prior to seasonal departures. As such currency exchange rates may change. To this end Global Drift reserves the right to impose surcharges up to 60 days before departure due to the following
- Major variations in exchange rates
- Increase in transportation and operational costs
- Personal Information
Clients will need to provide some personal details at the time of the booking including the following
- Full name (as in passport)
- Passport Number and nationality (scan preferred)
- DOB
- Passport issue and expiry date
- Minimum Traveller Numbers
Most Global Drift tours require a minimum of 6 clients to guarantee departure (private group minimum numbers can vary and be higher). Under certain circumstances we may run tours with fewer clients if travellers wish to pay a small surcharge. We will keep you informed if booking numbers are low on a particular trip.
Private tours can run at a minimum of 2 travellers with no upper limit.
- Visas
Travellers should obtain any visas that are required for their itineraries. Check each visa issuing office for conditions that are required
- Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is compulsory on all itineraries. Your must be covered against accident, death, medical expenses and emergency evacuation. It should also cover cancellation and personal liability. You will be asked to provide proof of your travel insurance prior to the trip in the form of a scan or document detailing all persons covered (that are travelling) and the dates of coverage.
Travel insurance is recommended to be taken out at the time of payment to cover cancellation fees due to unforseen circumstances (check your insurance policy re cancellations)
- Participation Waiver - Acceptance of Risk
All Global Drift travellers are required to sign a Participation Waiver prior to the trip. Please note that signing the form is a prerequisite of travelling with Global Drift.
Global Drift will send this form to you along with the dossier prior to your trip.
It is imperative that EACH TRAVELLER completes this form and returns it signed and witnessed via a scanned email or regular post prior to the trip commencement
- Cancellation Policy
Traveller cancels pre tour
Travellers cancelling their tour will be subject to loss of payment to some degree
The cancellation date is the date on which cancellation is received in writing by Global Drift
The schedule of money lost per person is-
- 60 days or more prior to tour departure date - Loss of deposit (minimum 20% of tour cost)
- 30-59 days prior to tour departure date - 50% of total tour cost
- Less than 30 days to tour departure date - 100% of total tour cost
Traveller cancels during tour
No refunds will be paid if you decide to leave a tour for any reason once the tour has begun
Discretionary partial refunds may be offered by Global Drift if you are involuntarily forced to leave a trip for any reason
No refunds will be paid for any services not already used
We strongly advise you consider cancellation insurance at the same time as you book your tour
Global Drift cancellation
Global Drift reserves the right to cancel any tour prior to it running, but will not cancel a tour less than 30 days before departure unless the following circumstances occur
Global Drift may cancel any trip, at any time prior to departure due to terrorism, health and safety concerns, a dramatic change to on ground logistics, natural disasters or political instability. Global Drift may also cancel a previously confirmed tour if the above circumstances affect minimum traveller number requirements (see above)
If Global Drift cancels a tour on which you are booked you have the following options
- Partial refunds in line with what Global Drift is able to recoup on your behalf (refunds will be pursued vigorously case by case)
- If any funds are recouped, you may have the option to apply them to an alternative Global Drift tour of equal or less value to the tour cancelled (conditions apply)
Global Drift is not responsible for other expenses associated with travel on our tour such as your personal travel arrangements and visas
If the balance of the alternative tour chosen is of a greater value than the refunded monies, then you will be asked to pay the difference in price
